Detox Your Life Takes a Holistic Approach Healing Body, Mind, & Spirit

Detox Your Life Takes a Holistic Approach Healing Body, Mind, & Spirit

Eliminate mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical toxins with the guidance of a brand new e-program titled Detox Your Life Now and Awaken Your Inner Spirit that has been released by Serenity Enterprises.

The aim of this Christian health, fitness, and wellness program is to help believers and other spiritual seekers cleanse themselves of toxins that interfere with their overall health and well-being and God’s best for their lives.

Detox Your Life Now and Awaken Your Inner Spirit takes a spiritual and holistic approach to health and healing. The program is unique in that most self-help programs address one or more specific areas like clearing clutter or overcoming emotional eating instead of uncovering the source of many problems, which most often begin with a renewing of the mind and purification of the spirit. Once we change our thoughts and cleanse our heart, the natural byproduct is a healthier body and outer world,” say the author and Health and Spiritual Coach Rhonda Jones.

Are You Looking Only On the Surface of Things?

Are You Looking Only On the Surface of Things?

Are you looking only on the surface of things? – 2 Corin 10:7

We have all heard the saying, “all that glitters is not gold.” Yet people have a tendency to judge a thing based on outward appearances or a perceived positive outcome or feeling, when in fact, this could be the most detrimental course of all. Too often, we dwell upon that part of the road that happens to be the most tumultuous at the moment, not realizing there will be smooth pavement up ahead. We also believe that difficulty or unpleasant news or circumstances mean we have done something wrong, God is punishing us, or we are out of His will. We have learned to equate our perception of good with positivity and our perception of bad with negativity, but in many cases the complete opposite is true.

I remember when I was beginning my teacher education courses and was placed in a teacher mentorship program. In this program I was given a full one-year teaching position as I worked through the program. At the end of the year, the principal could decide, based upon my performance, whether she would hire me back. It was coming close to the end of the term and my evaluation.

Ten Ways to Attract More of What You Want Immediately

Ten Ways to Attract More of What You Want Immediately

  1. Stop assuming there’s no way to find out how to get more business, please your clients or employees, or get someone to go earn you business?”
  2. Stop numbing our body with alcohol, cigarettes, food, shopping, reading, activity, exercise, sex…whatever it is you use. Start feeling what you feel when you feel it. Ask, “What am I feeling now? How can I just feel that feeling and get its message? Once you’ve felt it, move on.
  3. Stop forcing things that aren’t working and appreciate the perfection of the situation. The “stop” you’ve encountered may be halting your forward progress to save you from driving over a cliff up ahead!
  4. Stop blaming the other person for an interpersonal problem and start looking at your role in the conflict. Ask, “How can I use this opportunity to strengthen my communication and compassion?” It’s probably NOT all your fault but that doesn’t mean you can’t solve it and learn from it by looking at yourself.
  5. Listen to your own “inexplicable urges” (the non-destructive ones, at least!)…Like that voice that tells you to look up your old buddy from junior high. Find him or her on the internet. These unconscious urges are serendipity trying to happen.

Can Anything Separate Us from God’s Love?

Can Anything Separate Us from God’s Love?

counseling handsRomans 8: 38-39 Paul declares, “ 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

I am also convinced that although nothing can separate us from God’s love for us, our own fears and insecurities can keep us from receiving the blessings of His love and His very best for us.

Allowing the Love & Blessings of God to Overtake You

Allowing the Love & Blessings of God to Overtake You

waterfallLast week I wrote a post about intention and created a list of intentions that I read each morning. But lately during my quiet meditation time with God, I sense God taking my heart and thoughts in a new direction.  I believe the Lord is tell me we all have great intentions, dreams, desires, and goals, so the problem isn’t knowing what we want, the issue is “allowing”  God to bless us with these things.  Too often we become the pursurer of what we want instead of becoming a pursurer of God, who declares, seek ME first and I will give us ALL things.

Target your words and thoughts toward your desired outcomes

Intention Gives Power to Your Thoughts, Words, and Actions

Target your words and thoughts toward your desired outcomes

Target your words and thoughts toward your desired outcomes

What is an intention? An intention is an anticipated outcome. Intentions can be different from plain thoughts, objectives, or goals in that when we create a goal, we usually create an action plan or specific steps to accomplish it.  When we create intentions, we leave the who, how, what, or when up to God or the Spirit. Instead of trying to figure out or make something happen, we allow the wisdom of God to manifest our desires in a perfect way at just the right time. That doesn’t mean that no action is required, but we wait for the inner promptings of God to guide our steps, instead of trying to figure it all out prematurely.  If we are patient, sometimes our desires will show up with no effort on our part at all. If our intention is internal transformation, we may begin to witness positive changes in our behavior without initially realizing it.

Lord Change Me

Lord Change Me: Surrendering to Jesus

 Lord Change Me
By Guest Writer, Gary Skinner

It all began 10 years ago. On the floor. On my face. I was lying with my arms up over my head and my nose planted firmly in the carpet.

“Well, Lord, I was told today at church that if I would get on my face and worship You, I could find some answers . . . that I could connect with You . . . that You would change me. Is this what they meant?”

My nose was beginning to get a little rug burned so I turned my head and let my cheek rest on the floor. I continued to lay there for almost two hours. You see, I was desperate. My history was more than a little embarrassing. I was 40 years old and here’s what I had to show for it: a divorce, a bankruptcy, a lost business, $500,000 of debt, and the prestige of being a convicted felon. It’s true that I now was married to a wonderful woman and had some great friends. But the shame of my past still dominated my thoughts.

My list of atrocities did not happen overnight. I strung them out over a 22—year period. What’s interesting is that during those years I consistently read my Bible, went to church or Bible studies, prayed, and openly spoke about my love for and commitment to God. Yet I was a mess. A terrible disciple of Jesus Christ. So, in many ways, lying on my face that day was a “retreat.” I had retreated into God’s presence to lay down my old life—and, hopefully, emerge with something new.

Developing a Closer Relationship with God Takes More Than Going to Church

Developing a Closer Relationship with God Takes More Than Going to Church

developing a closer relationship with godMy love affair with God is growing and growing. Although my new love for God started in church almost 20 years ago, it wasn’t until God separated me unto himself and took me through a desert experience that I began not to just know of God, but truly experience Him on a personal level.

As new or immature believers in Christ, our walk is generally characterized by what we do for God. Although the gift of salvation is free, it’s hard for our natural minds to comprehend that we can get something for nothing. Our church leaders also weight us down with a litany of what good Christians do. Good Christians never miss a Sunday Service, attend weekly bible study, volunteer in several ministries, read their Bibles everyday, and the list goes on. As a result, when we fail to meet these standards, guilty feelings surface and fear sets in. We may even question whether we are saved.

The irony is that going to church doesn’t necessarily constitute a relationship with God just as not going to church suggests a lack of one. The first time I stopped going to church I was guilt-ridden. I must be in a back-slidden condition I ponderedt, although my heart was just as devoted to God as ever.  Scriptures like, “do not forsake the assembling of yourselves together,” surely meant I was on my way to hell. Yet at that time in my life going to church left me feeling empty. It was just a weekly ritual, a habit that I had been doing for years and I was tired of putting myself through its misery.

Denying Self Means Living By God’s Spirit

It’s my first post of the New Year and its 4:00 a.m. This minute begins my week long experiment with self. By self, I mean that part of me that gets in the way of divine and spiritual inspiration and holds me captive to my old ways and patterns. It is self that tells me to “do it later” or that I have to do A, B, and C before I can do D when D is beckoning me at that very moment. It is self that stands in the way of me being the person I hope to be: successful, healthy, joyful, and whole.  As I see it, there are just some relationships not worth having. Relationships that bring you down, hold you back, and create emotional toxicity. In the past, I have been quick to let loose of these types of love-hate encounters. But my long relationship with self which has proven to be just as toxic at times, still lingers on, despite its obvious maladies.

Keep God First In All Things

by Minister Darrick D. McGhee

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God. Today, I wonder if you remembered to tell the Lord, “thank you” for watching over you as you slept last night? Were you so preoccupied with getting to work that you forgot to take time to let God know how much you appreciate Him? Were you so focused on applying your make up, ironing your clothes, getting the children to the bus stop on time, that you forgot to offer God grateful praise? So often throughout our day, we become so focused on keeping our same routine until we forget the most important ingredient for the day. We become so committed to following the traditions of man that we unconsciously block God out of our daily tasks. How did you get where you are in your life? How did you achieve the success you enjoy today? How did you make it through the night when the enemy set demonic attacks against you? It was the Lord’s doing.

How Far Will You Trust God?

Today as I was cutting my lawn, God spoke to my spirit. He said, “How far will you go to trust me?”

If you are in the land of the living, from time to time you are going to face challenges.  At times they are few and far between, for other times it’s like an avalanche of problems overtake us.  I began thinking about several years ago when I lived in Dallas and was going through a very difficult time financially. For awhile I allowed worry and fear to grip most of my waking hours.  I kept thinking that I may become homeless and lose everything I had. Then I began to play the “what if” game.

What’s Really Holding You Back?

Today I want to write a book review about a wonderful books that I am half way through and it is making a tremendous impact on my life.  The book is titled, What’s Really Holding You Back? and it is written by Valorie Burton, highly sought after Christian Life Coach and author of several other popular titles.

I purchased this book at an estate sale about 6 months ago from a woman who I found out had died of cancer.  You could tell that this woman was a Christian from her extensive book library and I walked away with a box of books for about ten dollars. I mean these were the kinds of books that every Christian would dream for.

Well, within the pack was What’s Really Holding You Back? The book is broken down into 35 coaching sessions that help you to identify where you are, where you want to go, and how to get there.  Valerie helps you to pinpoint those many areas in our lives that obstruct our success in life like Are You Waiting for the Perfect Circumstances?, Are You Speaking Death Into Your Life, Have you Given Away Your Power, and Are You Treating the Symptom or the Problem?
