The Peace of Mind Path inside The Sanctuary: Quiet the Noise and Rest in His Presence
Thank you for taking my healing quiz. Your results reveal that negative thought patterns are stealing your peace. Like a broken record, these thoughts loop: ‘I’m not enough… This will fail… God’s forgotten me…
You are only as healthy as your mind, yet for many of us, the “battlefield of the mind” feels like a losing war. We are told to take every thought captive, but that is much easier said than done when you’re bombarded by decades of “stinkin’ thinking” and fear-based patterns that have been on loop since childhood.
If your mind feels like a battlefield of racing thoughts and ‘what-ifs,’ The Sanctuary is designed to be your refuge. Within our membership, you will find our specialized Renewing the Mind Collection—a series of biblical meditations specifically crafted to silence mental chatter, dissolve anxiety, and ground your thoughts in the unchanging peace of Christ.
The Weight
The Mental Loop: The relentless “what-ifs” and past mistakes that refuse to let you sleep.
The Internal Critic: The heavy fog of “stinkin’ thinking” and shame that tells you you’re not enough.
The Survival Response: That “knot in your stomach” as you try to manage the world in your own strength.
The Word
The Constant Guard: “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You.” (Isaiah 26:3)
The Gentle Shepherd: “He leads me beside still waters; He restores my soul.” (Psalm 23:2-3)
The Divine Anchor: “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you.” (Psalm 55:22)
Cast your burdens upon the Lord, and He will sustain you. Psalms 55:22
- Incorporate a Mental Gatekeeper- A mental gatekeeper is an imaginary person who stops negative thoughts before they can enter your mind. For example, if your mental gatekeeper is a baseball player, visualize each negative thought as a baseball. When a negative thought (ball) comes towards you, visualize your batter hitting it right out of the field.
- Observe Your Thoughts- The only way to change negative thoughts is to first become aware of them. Take some time to do a thought inventory and observe your recurring thinking patterns. Once recognized, cover them with God’s Word and promises.
- Start a Daily Meditation Practice to help you bring every thought captive.
- Rewrite Your Mental Script– Many people don’t realize this, but thoughts are things. What we think about most often grows. “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he,” is a popular scripture. Therefore, if you don’t want to create your fears, worries, or doubts, consciously rewrite your mental script and begin to rehearse it instead.
- Live in the Present Moment– Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. All we have is now. Living outside of the present moment hinders the joy and peace we could be experiencing right now! Every moment is a blessing!
- Learn to Live in the Mystery- Most of us fear uncertainty. We want solutions and closure right now. Living in the mystery cultivates trust and dependency upon Father God, even during times of darkness. Know that God will never leave you or forsake you. Make mystery an adventure.
