About Spirit-Filled Living

dandelionSpirit-filled Living is the discussion and feedback arm of  The Christian Meditator . It serves as a medium to connect more personally with our audience through shared experiences, comments, life changing stories, uplifting articles, and more. If you are interested in submitting an article to Spirit-filled Living on a topic related to spiritual growth and developing a more intimate relationship with God, please go to our submit an article page.
Spirit-filled Living is about  integrating the Spirit with Christianity.  The two really aren’t synonymous. You can be a Christian and live void of the lavish and abundant spirit of God inside you.  Not because the spirit isn’t there, but we can be so blogged down stuff (mind stuff, distraction stuff, living stuff, cluttered stuff, logical stuff, habit stuff, worldly stuff) that we don’t see, hear, or recognize the spirit moving.

In order to live in and through the power of the Holy Spirit, we need to make that connection, and that takes getting still, being quiet, and nourishing the parts of us that through neglect have become a little rusty or hard of hearing. Jesus never intended for us to worship him with our minds alone. It’s outright impossible really because our mind is our biggest  aversion to spiritual things.  Our minds, left unattended, tend to limit our creativity, our inspiration, and our expression of who we really are in Christ.  It also harness the doubts, fears, and emotional barriers that hold us back.

Jesus said that God is a Spirit and they that worship Him must worship him in Spirit and in Truth.  We can bring the spirit of God into everything we do, whether its doing the laundry or speaking to a large group. The Holy  Spirit is here to guide and teach us how to live and endow us with the spirit of Christ which embodies love, joy, peace, and contentment.   Jesus said, when the Holy Spirit comes, no man needs to teach us because the Holy Spirit would teach us everything we need to know.

Along with keeping our spirits renewed, we must also live in harmony with our bodies and the planet.  My blog, Nourishing Your Spirit attempts to integrate all these for balanced and spirit-filled living.

May Peace and Abundance Be Yours, Rhonda Jones
