Enhancing Your Quiet Time with God

Each morning I spend my first hour with the Lord.  I start with scripture meditation where I meditate on a passage in the Bible to quiet my mind from the mirage of things I need to do.  It is also during my meditation time that I ask God to purify my heart and release all my cares and worries over to the Lord. My daily meditation is like a shower of the mind. It cleans my mind, soul, and spirit from any heaviness or mental contaminates that I may have embraced each day. I alternate this with one of my guided-meditations recordings. Beginning your quiet time with a guided meditation will help to prepare your mind and heart to receive from God.

Reading my Bible and other inspirational books promote spiritual growth, God’s love, and maturity.  I end my quiet time with a closing prayer. It various from time to time with praising God, praise music, and more extended time in prayer.  Beginning my quiet time with Christian meditation helps me to get more out of my time with God.
