One of my favorite devotional books is Sarah Young’s, Jesus Calling. Each week I will upload my favorite Jesus Calling of the week. You can learn more about purchasing the book below. Threaded throughout Jesus Calling is God’s message to us to be still and to dwell in his presence.
Come away with me for a while. The world, with it’s nonstop demands, can be put on hold. Most people put ME on hold, rationalizing that someday they will find time to focus on Me. But the longer people push me into the background of their lives, the harder it is for them to find Me.
You live amongst people that glorify busyness; they have made time a tyrant that controls their lives. Even those who know Me as Savior tend to march to the tempo of the world. They have bought into the illusion that more is always better: more meetings, more programs, more activity.
I have called you to follow Me on a solitary path, making time alone with Me your highest priority and deepest Joy. It is a pathway largely unappreciated and often despised. However, you have chosen the better thing, which will never be taken away from you. Moreover as you walk close to Me, I can bless other through you.

|Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence – Devotions for Every Day of the YearBy Sarah Young / Thomas NelsonAfter many years of writing in her prayer journal, missionary Sarah Young decided to be more attentive to the Savior’s voice and began listening for what He was saying. With pen in hand she embarked on a journey that forever changed her along with many others throughout the world. The result of these meditations is the classic devotional, Jesus Calling, Enjoying Peace in His Presence. In these powerful pages are the words and scriptures Jesus lovingly laid on her heart. A year’s worth of daily readings from Young’s journals are now available for you, in order to bring you closer to Christ and move you deeper into His presence and His everlasting peace.|
