Let Me Be Your Anchor

One of my favorite devotional books is Sarah Young’s, Jesus Calling.  Each week I will upload my favorite Jesus Calling of the week.  You can learn more about purchasing the book below.  Threaded throughout Jesus Calling is God’s message to us to be still and to dwell in his presence.

Come to me continually. I am meant to be the Center of your consciousness, the Author of your soul. Your mind will wander from Me, but the question is how far you allow it to wander. An anchor on a short rope lets a boat drift only slightly before the taut line tugs the boat back toward the center. Similarly, as you drift from Me, My Spirit within you gives a tug, prompting you to return to Me. As you become increasingly attuned to My Presence, the length of rope on your soul’s Anchors is shortened. You wander only a short distance before feeling that inner tug- telling you return to your true Center in Me.

451884: Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence - Devotions for Every Day of the Year Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence – Devotions for Every Day of the YearBy Sarah Young / Thomas NelsonAfter many years of writing in her prayer journal, missionary Sarah Young decided to be more attentive to the Savior’s voice and began listening for what He was saying. With pen in hand she embarked on a journey that forever changed her along with many others throughout the world. The result of these meditations is the classic devotional, Jesus Calling, Enjoying Peace in His Presence. In these powerful pages are the words and scriptures Jesus lovingly laid on her heart. A year’s worth of daily readings from Young’s journals are now available for you, in order to bring you closer to Christ and move you deeper into His presence and His everlasting peace.
