Jesus quiets the storms within me
“He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.”- Mark 4:39
In the sea of Galilee, a great storm raged that woke the sleeping disciples. When they saw the storm, they pleaded to Jesus, “save us.” At their request, Jesus rebuked the storm and calmness ensued. How often do you seek peace and comfort through external means? Trying to fix the situation, repairing the damage, and giving into worry, are usually our first go to solutions. However, before we can fix any situation on the outside, we must calm the storm within our own minds and hearts. Only then, can we hear from God within. There is no problem too big for our creator, we only make it so in our minds.
Meditate: Spend 5 minutes meditating on a problem that you’ve allowed to grow into a tidal wave. In your imagination, see Jesus rebuking the storm and the calming of the waves.
